Day 4 - July 15

Of course, Matt is up before 6 again. This ship and everything going on around us is just so stimulating for him and he is curious about everything. I woke up feeling the best I have since we left. The debilitating fatigue is better today.

We had to be out of our rooms by 8 so we headed up for breakfast by 6:30. Breakfast was so good. I will honestly miss it so much and my appetite has been huge. So unlike Croatia where I could barely eat half the time. We had breakfast and then headed into the Rock and Roll Lounge to meet our tour director and make the last arrangements.

We had some time before our tour departs at 11:45 so we headed in to see Skagway. Tiny little wilderness town. We walked from one end to the other and of course, looked at everything that has anything to do with trains. I bought a latte that cost almost $9.00! And it wasn’t that great either. I miss the coffee from home.

Headed back to the ship and met our group. Left the ship for the last time and headed to the train. We boarded the White Pass train which will take us to Fraser. What an incredible ride. The towering mountains of Alaska and the Yukon surrounding us. Waterfalls, lakes, rivers, and flowers. Never ending beauty. It was just wonderful. In Fraser, we switched to the Motor Coach which will take us the rest of the way to Whitehorse.

Arriving in Whitehorse, the weather is spectacular. Warm and sunny. After getting checked into our room, Matt and I headed out to explore the town. Walked several miles and ended up at the Klondike Rib and Salmon for dinner. Such a unique place. Definitely caught the spirit of Whitehorse. The food was delicious but we are back to these enormous proportions. Every thing on the Cruise Ship was so small. It was nice. Matt and I shared salad and fish and chips.

Walked the town a bit more and along the Yukon River. What a beautiful place. I am so happy to be enjoying it with Matt. We need to get to bed early tonight. It is an early day tomorrow. Out of bed at 5:30 am to fly to Dawson.

More adventures. How lucky are we,
